Growing up a Catholic, I learned the prayers and rituals long before I understood the doctrines behind them. Catechetical literacy changed that, moving me from routine observance toward a more reasoned, informed conviction. Hosea 4:6 states it plainly: my people are destroyed for lack of knowledge, and for a long period, that described my own practice. Engaging seriously with catechesis gave me the vocabulary and framework I had been missing. It grounded my faith in 1 Peter 3:15, always ready to give a reason for my hope, and brought greater consistency to my prayer life. I can now discuss my faith with fellow lay faithful with genuine clarity, not as a matter of habit, but of understanding.

There is a saying that “where one’s knowledge stopped, another man’s begin.” I was born and bred up as a Catholic and have been taking catechism classes for more than 20 years as a Legionary and I thought I knew it all but until I stumbled on Catechetical Literacy online, then I know that I am still at the nursery level. 😆. I have learnt more than enough from the discussion on topics that are posted on weekly basis and the summaries by a Priest. I love my catholic faith and I am still longing and hungry for more areas that would boost my worship to God in truth and in spirit.

Catholic Catechetical Literacy came to be when it was less expected and has imparted lives in various forms. Though it has a small beginning but today I can refer to it as a Catholic learning hub and a mobile Catholic Church.
For me, joining the platform is a blessing because there i learnt a lot especially on the followings:
a. It depeened my understanding about the catholic faith.
b. It enabled me to share my little experience with others thereby learning from it.
c. It opened my eyes to the social teachings of the church which is needed in today’s society irrespective of the race.
d. It’s a mobile church because members are welcomed, respected and valued without discrimination.
e. It imparted me about approach to various issues in life and the life of the church.

Catholic Catechetical Literacy platform is a place to be for all serious minded Catholics , who wish to grow in the knowledge of God, know more about the church and inherit eternal life after our sojourn on earth.

Catechetical Literacy has really deepened my understanding of the Catholic faith and influenced my spiritual growth in many ways. It is to my advantage to be part of this noble group. Since I joined, it has taught me to be more focused on my spiritual journey. Being able to provide meaningful answers to some questions gives me joy and propels me to do more. Learning from the contributions of others is an added advantage for me. I have learnt a lot about Scripture, inspiring stories that touch the heart, Bible quizzes, and how to memorise some Bible verses, all of which have greatly influenced my spiritual growth.
I am grateful to the organisers and the admin, who are always available 24/7 to ensure that members remain active rather than passive. Thank you for helping us grow, impacting lives, and continuing to serve with integrity and excellence

Participating in Catechetical Literacy has been a profound turning point in my spiritual journey. This is because I was not a born Catholic, I became one through the sacrament of matrimony. The Catechetical Literacy provided the clarity and depth I was searching for, transforming my understanding of the Catholic faith from routine tradition into a deeply personal conviction. The lessons have truly illuminated my relationship with God, allowing me to live out my faith with greater confidence and joy. It is a beautiful gift for anyone seeking to know the Church more deeply.
